Abstract
IN 1954 a two-day-old infant was admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital with pneumoperitoneum. At operation no abnormality could be found to explain the free air in the peritoneal cavity. The baby recovered without complications. A review of the current literature revealed only 2 similar cases, reported by Birdsong and Frame1 in 1951. The rarity of this abnormality prompted the following additional report.Case ReportB.
