Abstract
0.03-0.06 g. of the extract of Ch''ang Shan given orally 2-3 times per day for 5 days to 13 patients with tertian malaria controlled the fever as promptly as quinine, but its antiparasitic effect was slightly slower. Nausea and vomiting were the only toxic reactions observed. Similar results were demonstrable in exptl. animals. 4 crystalline substances were isolated from Ch''ang Shan; these were Dichrin A and E and Dichroine A and B. Only Dichroine B was effective for chicken malaria. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
