Abstract
The real and imaginary parts of the complex dielectric constant of the liquid crystal and normal liquid phases of para‐azoxyanisole and para‐azoxyphenetole have been measured at a frequency of 15 300 Mc. A static magnetic field applied to the sample is capable of producing large changes in the observed values of the complex dielectric constant. The extent of this effect depends on the orientation and intensity of the static magnetic field and on the temperature. Keywords
