Abstract
This paper describes three different analytical procedures, namely, differential spectrophotometry, fluorimetry and high-performance liquid chromatography, for the determination of diflunisal and its tablets. The differential spectrophotometric method is based on measuring a solution of the drug at basic pH against its acidic solution at 274 nm. The fluorimetric method depends on measuring the natural fluorescence of diflunisal in a buffer solution of pH 8 at λem.= 425 nm (λex.= 260 nm), and the high-performance liquid chromatographic procedure is carried out on a reversed-phase ODS column at 254 nm. The accuracy, precision, specificity and sensitivity of the proposed methods have been established. Keywords
