Simultaneous Determination of Fungicide Residue in Citrus

Abstract
The selective determination of three common, yet toxic fungicides (diphenyl, o-phenylphenol and thiabendazole) was investigated with reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). These fungicides were successfully chromatographed and quantitated by utilizing a reversed-phase Unisil Q C8 column. An acetonitrile-1%w/v H3PO4 (58:42) mobile phase was used. The fungicides at post-harvest were detected with fluorescence detection at typical residue levels on citrus. The practical quantitation limits of diphenyl, o-phenylphenol and thiabendazole were 0.1, 0.1 and 0.005 mg/kg, respectively. The recoveries were between 90.0 and 97.3%.
