Abstract
The 2-dimensional information provided by a B-scan [in humans] demonstrates the size and relationship of a pericardial effusion to the chest wall, heart and liver. The appropriate puncture site, angle and depth of insertion of the pericardiocentesis needle can be accurately determined with this information. This method should decrease the morbidity and mortality of pericardiocentesis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
