Abstract
Novel closed-form expressions for the cutoff frequency and the characteristic impedance of finned and ridged waveguides are presented. Agreement with previously published numerical data is better than one percent for all parameters of practical interest. The expressions considerably facilitate computer aided design and tolerance analysis of ridged waveguide structures without compromise in accuracy. Keywords
