Abstract
The resonant (, H) electron-transfer cross section is calculated in the first-order Faddeev-Watson multiple-scattering approximation. The result shows that the cross section lies between the Brinkman-Kramers and Jackson-Schiff cross sections and approaches the Jackson-Schiff cross section in the high-energy limit. If the contribution coming from the on-shell Coulomb cuts is neglected, the cross section approaches the Brinkman-Kramers cross section asymptotically in the high-energy limit. Arguments are presented that the on-shell-cut contribution should be included in the calculation of the electron-transfer amplitude.
