Abstract
The effect of Hemophilus pertussis vaccine on the pericapillary mast cells, the ground substance and the filtering function of the capillary endothelium was investigated in rats. The vaccine had no effect on the mast cells and no disruption or degranulation occurred. The capillary effects of histamine were inhibited during the first six hours and diminished for 26 h after vaccination. The usual increased capillary permeability apparent in the first two hours after H. pertussis vaccine were not induced by dextran when such doses were injected which provoke maximal edema formation in normal rats. Keywords
