Abstract
Surveys have been undertaken of the clinical dependency of surgical patients in eight United Kingdom acute general hospitals. The findings indicate that patients' needs are not always matched by appropriate levels of clinical care. In particular, it appears that a significant number of surgical patients need high-dependency care. Currently most of these patients are admitted to ITU beds, or are at risk on surgical wards. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
