The Role of Arthroscopy in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Disorders of the Ankle

Abstract
Arthroscopy has been recognized as a useful method in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the knee. The application of this technique to other joints is presently being investigated. We have had the opportunity to use this procedure as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool for abnormalities of the ankle joint. The technique of ankle arthroscopy and the correlative anatomy is described. The indications, complications, and end results of 30 procedures are reviewed.
