THE types of joint disease often encountered in the Mediterranean Theater, in addition to rheumatoid arthritis, which was discussed in a previous paper,1 included hypertrophic arthritis, arthralgia and similar disorders, and psychogenic rheumatism.Hypertrophic ArthritisThe aspects of hypertrophic arthritis that seemed of importance in the Theater are covered in this section, no attempt being made to discuss the definitive treatment of the disease.
