Abstract
The surface features of CdS crystal platelets with platelet plane {1120} have been studied by optical microscopy and electron microscopy using replica techniques. Striations corresponding to rooftop-like facets and steps were observed. The steps were shown, by means of an x-ray technique, to have unique orientations with respect to the positive c-direction. As-grown specimens and chemically thinned specimens were studied by transmission electron microscopy. Keywords
