Abstract
Rats from the Wistar strain showed only normal glucose tolerance curves. Rats of the Yale strain showed normal curves to 50 days of age; in age groups 51-60 days and 61-70 days, 14% of the animals gave diabetic curves; in age groups 71-90 days, 50% gave diabetic curves; after 90 days of age 70% of the tolerance curves were diabetic. Probable error for curves of Yale strain is 4 times that of Wistar strain. Glucose was administered by stomach tube or by intraperitoneal inj. Blood was taken from the tail. Blood sugar was detd. by the Shaffer-Hartmann-Somogyi method. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
