Abstract
Two patients are described who showed a precipitous loss of forced expiratory volume from normal to low levels within a few years. They did not have bronchial asthma and we suggest that this pattern of deterioration may occur occasionally in patients before they attend hospital with the symptoms of chronic bronchitis. Keywords
