Abstract
The small‐angle x‐ray scattering of n‐decane and β,β′‐dichloroethyl ether has been investigated at the critical‐solution concentration over a range of temperatures near the phase‐separation temperature in the one‐phase region. Composite light‐ and x‐ray scattering curves were constructed. The angular distribution of the scattering was analysed in terms of the Debye theory of critical opalescence. Deviations from the straight‐line behavior in plots of reciprocal scattered intensity versus (s/λ)2(s=2 sin½θ, and λ is the wavelength in the medium) were observed.
