Abstract
A design principle for an integrated optic array illuminator is presented, and an array illuminator which can generate uniform beams with 100% power efficiency has been designed. It was found that there exists a tradeoff relationship between the beam compression ratio and the maximum number of beams available. Based on this relationship, the possibility and limitation of the proposed scheme are discussed. Keywords
