Abstract
The valence-band structure, plasmon energies, core-electron singularity indices, and charge transfer of some Ca-structure intermetallic compounds have been studied. The results are compatible with other available experimental data and with band-structure calculations, and confirm the free-electron character of the valence bands near the Fermi energy. Significant charge transfer in the antifluorite direction was found in all the compounds studied.
