Abstract
Hair samples from dental and nondental personnel in central Kentucky [USA] were collected and analyzed for inorganic Hg. Hair Hg levels in both groups averaged .apprx. < 1.0 .mu.g/g, and the maximum concentration observed was 3.0 .mu.g/g. There was no significant difference in hair Hg content between the 2 groups. A highly significant negative correlation (r = -0.7110; P < 0.0001) was found between hair Hg concentration and age of the donor. A possible explanation of this relationship was presented. The analytical procedures provided accuracy and precision in recovering Hg from enriched hair samples. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
