Abstract
The epidermis can be separated from the corium by acids, bases and at neutral pH by salts according to the swelling action of these agents on collagen. The separation can be reversed by salts with shrinking effect. In some cases, pathologic blister formation can be explained by change in the adhesive forces due to the swelling of collagen. Keywords
