Abstract
Bear predation has recently been recognized as a significant mortality factor affecting free-ranging cervid populations in North America. This report documents three probable incidents of black bear predation on neonate white-tailed deer in the central Adirondack Mountains of New York during June of 1986 and 1987. Black bear predation on free-ranging white-tailed deer has not been previously reported in the northeastern United States. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
