Abstract
Sin—In a recent issue of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Moise-Broder et al. [1] describe the association of the type II agr polymorphism in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) with vancomycin treatment failure in a range of infection types. The basis for this work was previous studies that revealed a strong correlation between the agr II polymorphism and US isolates of S. aureus with reduced vancomycin susceptibility [2].Keywords
