Abstract

Legislative acts enforced by the Food and Drug Adm. do not prohibit fortification but do prohibit unwarranted representations. Inadequate information and unsatisfactory criteria make it necessary to proceed cautiously. Generalizations are frequently in error and may lead to the perpetration of frauds upon the public.
