Abstract
A new method for determining B-glucosidase activity was developed with salicin as the substrate. The amount of saligenin formed was determined colori-metrically by use of 4-aminoantipyrine. The color produced was measured at 515 m[MU] with a Unicam SP 300 spectrophotometer. The presence of [beta]-glucosidase activity in the potato has been demonstrated by this method. Keywords
