Abstract
Laboratory investigations have indicated that the effects of water temperature on the movement of sediment and on flow in alluvial streams can be appreciable. Some variations noted in flow conditions in the field can be attributed to the effects of water temperature. Information available on the subject has been confusing, or too general to permit the development of definite relations. An investigation undertaken to determine the effects of changes in water temperature on sediment transport, stream-bed forms, and bed roughness for various types of material is described. An interim report on progress of this investigation and procedures used includes some of the preliminary indications and conclusions. Keywords
