The Short-Term Effects of In-Hospital Respite on the Patient With Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract
Cognitive and functional status levels of a group of patients with Alzheimer's Disease were assessed, by standardized measures, just prior to admission to a 2-week in-hospital respite program and at the conclusion of respite. Patients with the poorest status tended to show improvement on some of the measures at the end of respite whereas patients with higher initial levels of performance tended to show slight worsening.
