Carbamazepine treatment for benzodiazepine withdrawal

Abstract
Nine patients were given carbamazepine before rapid discontinuation of benzodiazepines. Most patients had had long-term benzodiazapine treatment and had abused benzodiazepines; five had taken high doses.
