Abstract
Two brief scales of 10 items each were taken from Kerlinger's Education Scale VII, a 30-item scale with considerable empirical evidence of validity. Each brief scale has five items measuring each of two factors: A (Progressive) and B (Traditional) attitudes toward education. Factorial validity and moderate internal consistency reliability were shown for both scales. Form I was shown to have high test-retest reliability and concurrent validity with measures of attitudes toward innovative school practices. Potential uses of the scales were discussed. Keywords
