Abstract
Results are presented for both inelastic and rearrangement scattering of positrons by hydrogen atoms for total angular momentum of zero. Sector adiabatic basis functions in hyperspherical coordinates are used to form a 43-coupled-channel scattering expansion for energies below the H(n=4) threshold. Partial cross sections out of +H(1) into H(1), Ps(1), H(2), Ps(2), and H(3) are shown, as are those out of +Ps(1) into H(2), Ps(2), and H(3). Considerable resonance structure is apparent in all of these cross sections.
