Abstract
Young rats fed a myo-inositol-deficient diet showed an increase in body weight during the initial 45 days of breeding; scarcely any symptoms of spectacled eye or alopecia in appearance were found, even after breeding for more than 3 mo. However, the mean daily increase in body weight of rats fed 0.5 to 2.0 mg of myo-inositol was higher than that of those fed a myo-inositol -deficient diet. Four trials of experiments were performed with high reproducibility. Keywords
