Abstract
Muscle cramp is common.1It can be defined as a sudden painful involuntary maximal contraction of a muscle or muscle group lasting up to ten minutes in a person with no other neurological or muscle pathology. Cramps should be distinguished from tetany due to low plasma concentrations of ionised calcium. Keywords
