Abstract
A method of using the algal flagellate, Euglena gracilis var. bacillaris, as a bio autographic organism for the interpretation of paper chromatograms of vit. B12 active prepns. is described. Comparative studies described in detail present additional evidence that the growth response of the Euglena in suitable medium is apparently specific for vit. B12, and demonstrate the value of a differential type of analysis in the interpretation of paper chromatographic separations of vit. B12 and its related growth factors.
