Gas-liquid chromatographic studies of electron-donor-acceptor systems. Part 2.—Interactions of aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocycles with 2,4,7-trinitrofluorenone

Abstract
Gas-liquid chromatographic studies of aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocycles using 2,4,7-trinitrofluorenone as stationary phase have been correlated, where possible, with spectroscopic measurements of charge-transfer interactions. The results indicate that complex formation plays a prominent role in the separation of electron donors on this electron acceptor stationary phase, and have been used to predict orders of complexing ability for the donors.
