Abstract
A batch reaction is carried out in a water-cooled reactor on a small pilot scale plant. Control problems arose because of the inherent one loop instability of the reactor due to insufficient heat transfer area between the reactor contents and the cooling water in the jacket. This paper describes how a control system was designed which stabilised the reactor. Keywords
