Abstract
The amount of Cu found in horse blood serum is in agreement with that found by Warburg in human blood serum. The difference between the amount of Fe found in blood serum and the amount calculated on the basis of the hemoglobin content is so small as to make it appear doubtful that there is Fe present in blood serum other than that bound to hemoglobin. Only minute amounts of Cu and Fe could be removed from blood serum by dialysis. The results obtained make it appear doubtful that these metals are present in serum in the form of ions. Adsorption phenomena by serum proteins may, however, influence the processof dialysis. Itismoreprob-able that Cu as well as Fe is organically bound in blood serum. A liter of horse serum was found to contain 1.15 mgm. of Mn.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
