Abstract
The blood of dormant ground squirrels carries more O2 than that of active squirrels. During dormancy the heart rate, blood flow and blood volumes decrease. The O2 requirements of the animal are met however by the increased red blood count which occurs as a result of hemoconcentration. Keywords
