Abstract
Heparin in a protein-free medium was bacteriostatic at concns. of 100 ppm. At a concn. of 100,000 ppm. it had no bactericidal effect, but induced the development of a high percentage of mutants. It failed to inhibit budding in yeasts at a concn. of 10,000 ppm. Keywords
