Abstract
In the analysis of nonlinear structural systems, the stress-strain (force-deflection moment-rotation) relationship must be represented mathematically. The most simple representation is a series of straight lines. An alternative procedure is to fit a smooth analytical expression to the expression is the Ramberg-Osgood three-parameter polynomial which gives strain explicitly in terms of stress.Keywords
