Abstract
Techniques are described which maintain high performance and promote the stability of analytical liquid-liquid chromatography (LLC) columns. True equilibration of mobile liquid, prevention of stationary phase oxidation and proper temperature control all promote long column life. A high-speed LLC assay was carried out on a single column for over twelve months. This study shows that quantitative LLC can be performed with 1 σ deviations of <0.5% relative, using an internal standard technique with digital electronic integration. Quantitative techniques used for this analysis are discussed. LLC can offer significant advantages over GC for the precise analysis of many labile compounds. Keywords
