Abstract
Communication theory cannot exist apart from application. The present paper draws upon lines of analysis from Kenneth Burke, Chaim Perelman, Kenneth Boulding, and other theorists and applies them in the examination of United Nations rhetoric. The result is the formulation of a model of contemporary international communication. Keywords
