Abstract
This study is concerned with electromagnetic wave propagation in AlGaAs-GaAs double heterojunction lasers with a channel-guide structure. An analytical solution to Maxwell’s equations in a structure of sufficient complexity to describe a channel-guide five-layer laser is presented. Numerical calculations based on the solutions were made for a specific set of parameters obtained from a channel-guide laser grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MO-CVD) in our laboratory. Some analytical predictions for a fundamental mode oscillation are also included. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
