Abstract
Presentation of CaseA thirty-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of progressive dyspnea.Three weeks before entry the patient had a febrile exanthem after a similar illness in her children had been diagnosed as varicella. One week later a sore throat developed; a throat culture showed a normal flora. During convalescence, while away on a vacation, she became aware of progressive fatigue, aching of the legs and an increasingly severe cough that occasionally produced mucoid sputum. The sore throat subsided, but the cough persisted and was associated with progressively severe shortness of breath; mild exertion and lying flat . . .
