Abstract
The asymmetry parameter beta of photoelectrons ejected from the 2s shell of carbon have been calculated for three carbon ionic states, 4Pe, 2De and 2Se. The large departures from the Cooper-Zare value of 2 in each case can be understood systematically in the angular momentum transfer theory of Dill and Fano.Keywords
