Abstract
UV photoemission spectra of single crystals of polycyclic hydrocarbons were measured using two methods, 1) covering a sample with a thin layer of gold and 2) inducing photoconduction in the sample with low-energy light, to eliminate sample charging. Their ionization thresholds obtained are all smaller than the values for corresponding polycrystalline thin films. Keywords
