To evaluate whether androgens were able to affect PRL release, testosterone and dihydrotestosterone were injected i.m. in male and female subjects. PRL blood levels were not modified by testosterone in healthy males or in amenorrhoeic women, and PRL release in males proved unaffected by dihydrotestosterone at the dose used.
