Abstract
It was observed in these studies with a phospholipid possessing certain characteristics of cephalin that its addition to Kahn antigen increased the amt. of salt soln. necessary in the titer of the antigen and also increased the sensitivity with syphilitic serums. The extent to which antigen sensitivity is influenced by the conc., origin and purity of cephalin has not yet been fully established. Under-sensitive antigens corrected with cephalin were found to behave like standard antigen in the Kahn test and in the differential temp. and triple quantitative technics of the verification test. Oversensitive antigens were rendered still more oversensitive by addition of cephalin. It was observed that cephalin and lecithin exert antagonistic effects, making possible the use of either lipid, or a combination of both, in the correction of antigen. Keywords
