Abstract
This microrespirometer for tissue, insects, etc. is characterized by having a constant pressure of O2. As the gas is used up, dilute acid or alkali rises in a U-tube into contact with a 2d electrode. Electrolytic O2 replaces that used by the specimen and electrolysis ceases as soon as normal pressure has been restored. The electrolytic H2 rises in a calibrated tube, giving a continuous record of O2 consumed (replaced).
