Abstract
Serum bile salt measurements and i.v. clearance of glycocholate were performed in a woman with Dubin-Johnson syndrome. Fasting conjugated cholate concentration was raised and prolonged i.v. clearance of sodium glycocholate revealed a secondary rise in conjugated cholate concentration after 2 h. The i.v. clearance of bromsulphthalein also showed a secondary rise. Dubin-Johnson syndrome is apparently not homogeneous and in some patients an abnormality of bile salt clearance apparently coexists with an abnormality of bilirubin and bromsulphthalein clearance. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
