USE OF AUTOGENOUS FUNGUS EXTRACTS IN THE TREATMENT OF MYCOTIC INFECTIONS

Abstract
Literature on the subject of mycotic infections has dealt largely with the extent of their distribution among persons and on their chemical prophylaxis and therapeusis. More recently, the relation of allergy to the manifestations of the diseases produced by various fungi has been given considerable thought. As a result of this association, a new mode of therapy, namely, the use of desensitization by means of extracts, suggested itself and has been reported on from time to time. The late Bruno Bloch, of Switzerland, and his followers in this country have been largely responsible for stimulating interest along this line of approach.
