Abstract
Strains (50) of P. acnes, 5 strains with the previous designation Corynebacterium parvum and 3 strains of P. avidum were agglutinated by Bacto-Corynebacterium acnes 554 antiserum; it was not possible to isolate any strain reacting only with 605 antiserum. Only 1 strain of C. parvum reacted with both sera. Of 54 strains (P. acnes and C. parvum), 48 (88%) belonged to Voss'' group I and 25 (47%) belonged to Pulverer''s biotype A. Strains isolated from different [human] diagnostic materials differed only biochemically (spp. P. acnes and P. avidum). The relations between these 2 spp. are discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
